State leaders have emphasized that by the granting of an opportunity to Sri Lanka to host the Commonwealth, the country had been able to display its prosperity and the organizational strength to the world.
The State leaders who joined in the Commonwealth Summit said that Sri Lanka which has embarked on a clear development path is a model to the entire world.
Rwandan President Paul Kagame said that he is upbeat about his participation in the Commonwealth Summit held in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka’s hospitality remains at a high standard. He claimed that this Commonwealth Summit was a great success as it was held in Sri Lanka. He pointed out that it was clear that all member nations desire to go forward with Sri Lanka safeguarding all norms.
Nigerian Vice-President Mohamed Namadi Sambo said he highly valued the Sri Lankan President. He appreciated the hosting of the Commonwealth Summit and the outstanding treatment meted out to them. At the same time he was astonished about the development taking place in the island. Many countries could take Sri Lanka as a model for the holding of the Summit. While thanking the Sri Lankan Government, he assured full support to the country.
Vanuatu Prime Minister Moana Carcasses Kalosil said he wished to express his gratitude to the Sri Lankan Government and the people. Its hospitality remained high. The happiness in the Sri Lankan faces displays peace and unity in the country. He said the Commonwealth Summit was conducted on a high standard.
Lesotho Prime Minister Tom Thabane said Sri Lanka had a clear path. There is a prudent leadership behind its achievements. The Sri Lankan leadership should always receive the support on every occasion. This he said will give Sri Lanka to make optimum use of the opportunities received.
Bahamas Prime Minister Perry G Christie said he is happy that the Commonwealth Summit had been staged in Sri Lanka. The Conference had been organized on a high scale. There were opportunities to deliberate issues and exchange views. The Sri Lankan youth fraternity is very active and honest. The Colombo’s beauty is a fitting example to the country’s development. He wished Sri Lanka all success.
New Zealand Prime Minister John Kay said that it was his first Sri Lankan visit. While he is happy the Commonwealth Summit had been held in Sri Lanka, he is also happy that he was able to visit the island. It is a beautiful country. He said he considered this as a good opportunity for Sri Lanka to display to the world the island’s development and prosperity.
Tonga Prime Minister Tui Vakano said Sri Lanka is a beautiful country where hospitality remains at a high standard. He said he was happy to mention that outstanding services discharged by the Sri Lanka leadership in carrying forward the country. He added that the opportunity accorded to every member nation to build a dialogue was significant.
