A special Kiripindu Dana was held at the Sri Sambuddhaloka Vihare in Colombo Fort to mark the first anniversary of the deposit of Sacred Relics at the Dathu Mandiraya under the auspices of President Rajapaksa..
The Sacred Relics were deposited under the patronage of the President at The Dathu Mandiraya on the 25th of January last year. Since then Kiripindu Dana were continuously offered in the morning. The President assumed the task of offering the Kiripindu Dana this morning, marking the first year of the deposit of the Relics at the Vihare.
Accordingly the President visited the Vihare this morning and participated in religious observances. He also offered flowers at the Dathu Mandiraya. Chief Incumbent of the Vihare the Ven. Vitharandeniye Medhananda Thera conducted the religious observances and invoked blessings on the President. Members of the clergy and the laity were present.
