President Rajapaksa declares open the new administrative building and Nenasala of the Maligatenna Vidyatilake Pirivena at Hatthaka in Galle.
The President after arriving at the Maligatenna Purana Raja Maha Vihare at Hatthaka in Galle, engaged in religious observances. Thereafter he joined in the opening of the new two storeyed administrative building of the Vidyatilake Pirivena of the Maligatenne Raja Maha Vihare.
About 800 students, both clergy and laity, are pursuing studies at the Vidyatilake Pirivena which is rendering an outstanding education on behalf of Pirivena education in the area. The President called on the Chief Incumbent of the Maligatenna Purana Raja Maha Vihare, the Ven. Yatadolawatte Mahinda Thera and inquired into his wellbeing. The President also declared open the Nenasala established at the Vihare. A memento was presented marking the arrival of the President.
Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody, Senior Minister Piyasena Gamage, Project Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Deputy Minister Nishantha Muthuhettigama and Parliamentarians Ramesh Pathirana and Manusha Nanayakkara were among those present on the occasion.
