Sri Lankan doctor faces fine .....
for videoing legs of girls
A Sri Lankan medical practitioner residing in England was subject to punishment by courts on allegation that he had been videoing skirts and legs of young females.
He is Dr. Buddhi Abeyawardena, 63 years of age and a resident of Buckinghamshire. He had been going behind young girls in a shopping complex and engaged in videoing and had been taken into custody by security officers there. As revealed at the investigations, the doctor had been videoing legs and skirts of young women from a miniature camera.
The doctor who was arrested by the police admitted his guilt in the presence of the Magistrate of Birmingham for having violated common ethics.
The doctor mentioned in courts that he did not think it an offence that his act did any harm to anybody.
According to the law of that country, the Magistrate said that videoing contours of the body of a young female without her consent was considered an offence. After admitting guilt, Dr. Buddhi Abeyawardena was suspended from his practice for a period of 3 months and also a fine of 240 sterling pounds was imposed on him. The courts further issued notice that the doctor be prohibited from treating female patients until further notice. Buddhi Abeyawardena who completed his qualifications as a doctor in Sri Lanka in the year 1978.
