Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has said that this Deyata Kirula Exhibition had attracted the highest number of visitors in the Deyata Kirula history. The Minister was addressing the media conference held at the Deyata Kirula Exhibition grounds today.
The Minister told the news briefing that two million 845 thousand and 161 had visited the Deyata Kirula National Exhibition by midnight yesterday within the last eight days. The Minister was confident that with today’s figures, this Deyata Kirula will establish a record with the highest number of visitors for any event organized in the country’s history.
In addition on the 19th of this month, they will undertake first inspection for the selection of the venue in the Matara District for the next Deyata Kirula Exhibition. Minister Siyambalapitiya added that this is a massive project of the President which is being organized sans a break.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister was the Chief Guest at the Deyata Kirula today, the final day of the National Exhibition in Kuliyapitiya.
The conclusion of the Eighth Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition took place this afternoon under the patronage of Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne. Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Gotabhaya Rajapaksa also joined him. The Golden Sword was placed at the Presidential Secretariat.
The 2014 Deyata Kirula Exhibition which attracted the highest number of visitors drew to a close today drawing attention to four more Districts where the 2015 Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition will be organized.
