April 15th has been declared a Public and Bank holiday.
April 15th has been declared a Public and Bank holiday, in view of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year falling on Sunday and the Full Moon Poya day falling on the 14th. This decision has been taken in response to the many requests made by various parties including public servants to the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs.
The related gazette notification is due to be issued within the next few days.
