Sri Lanka and New Zealand have signed an air services agreement. Sri Lanka’s External Affairs Minister and the New Zealand Transport Minister inked the agreement.
Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris who is engaged in a tour of New Zealand had discussions with the New Zealand Government on air travel relations. The related agreement was signed by New Zealand Transport Minister Gerry Brownlee and Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris as a result of these discussions.
The agreement will serve as a catalyst to upgrade the tourism industry in Sri Lanka. The Minister also participated in discussions held with the famous Massey University in New Zealand, with respect to local milk production and livestock. The Minister also had discussions with the New Zealand Minister of Foreign Affairs and Sports.
