The United National Party May Day procession was held in the Ampara town. It was held under the patronage of Acting Party Leader and Parliamentarian Karu Jayasuriya.
Although the procession was scheduled to commence from the Brown Junction in Ampara at 2 p.m. reports said that the procession did not begin in time as at the organizers found it difficult to array the people for the procession.
However the organizers succeeded in kicking off the procession at around 3 p.n. from the Brown Junction/
The United National Party rally was held at the Ampara Urban Council Grounds and it was presided by Parliamentarian Karu Jayasuriya.
