As Secretary was upset the five names were scrapped - Hirunika

Hirunika Premachandra had reacted and had responded after, she including the five members
of the Sri Lanka Freedom party who were scrapped from the membership of the party.

It is very clear now that the fate of all of us who joined with the common candidate Maithripala Sirisena. All of us at the time we left the party faced death threats if Maithripala Sirisena lost. We now need not have on leg on one side and the leg on another side. It is better now that we are able to keep both legs on one side. We are now not members of the Sri Lanka Freedom party. For not been members of the Sri Lanka Freedom party is not an issue.

We have now got the opportunity to follow the ‘good governance’ principles and could stand erect and follow those principles which are conducive to our type of politics. This is a blessing for us than to sit together with those corrupt persons against whom allegations have been aimed at. She also had stressed that on behalf of ‘good governance’ this change is ideal.

She had wanted the President to appoint another secretary to the party who possess better policies. As it is not possible right now this decision had to be acceded to.
