Upul lodges a complaint against the Police Media Spokesman

Attorney at law Upul Premaratne has been accused by the Police Media Spokesman Assistant Superintendent of Police Ruwan
Gunasekara for a grave statement made him to the media that the attorney at law has defended the suspect Dunesh Priyashanth alias Kodaya who is a figure notorious for abusing underage girls as he got him released in the rape and murder of Seya Sadewnmi of Kotadeniyawa.

The attorney at law Upul Premaratne has lodged a complaint against the Police Media Spokesman  for his statement to the Police Commission.

Addressing a media conference the Attorney at law Upul Premaratne had said that the role of the Police Media Spokesman in police activities  is similar to that of "Mudliar"  and to report to the media about the police activities into various crimes and incidents. He had said it  not his duty to utter anything against the attorneys at law who appear for suspects as in this instance case and about their etiquettes.

By this statement he had challenged the etiquettes of the attorneys at law at large.This complaint had been made by attorney at law Upul Premaratne along with a number of other attorneys at law.The picture below shows how this group of attorneys at law proceeded to the Police commission to hand over this complaint.

President Maithripala Sirisena is to leave on an official visit to Thailand tomorrow, the 1st instant. The President has been extended an invitation to visit Thailand to take part in the
celebration ceremony  organised for having completed 60 years religious connections between the two countries. The invitation has been extended by the Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayuth Wan O Wa.

During the visit President Maithripala Sirisena is scheduled to meet the President of Thailand Boomiboll Shadul Yadevi as well as with the Prime Minister General Prayuth Wan O Wa and have bilateral talks especially on Buddhist affairs.

In parallel to this visit the exposition of Buddha relics that have been brought with a lot of faith and care from the historical Mahiyangana Raja Maha Viharaya will be displayed at the Thailand Buddhamanthath Viharaya. This event would be opened by our President Maithripala Sirisena. This event is to be held on the 02nd instant.

In addition to strengthen the already existing links on Buddhist cultures President will donate a replica of the Samadhi Buddha statue to the Dharmarama Temple situated at Arodhya city. This noble event is to take place with the participation of President Maithripala Sirisena

The relics of Lord Buddha would be  taken under the care of the Viharadpathi of the Mahiyangana Raha Maha Viharaya Venerable Urulewatta Dharmaratana thero.Along with the Viharadipathi 60 Buddist Monks would travel with President on this tour to Thailand.

European Astronomical experts have revealed that the  mysterious planet about 400 metres in width is to travel close to the earth today the 31st
instant. They have confirmed that it will not  collide with the moon or the earth. Hence have informed all people not create any chaos as it would  not harm anyone.

In this connection the ministry of science, technology and testing had issued a notice to the public as follows:

The mysterious planet is 400 metres in width and would be travelling further away in the atmosphere.It will travel a distance of 1.3 the distance between the moon and the earth.The speed at which it travels is 35 kilometres per second.This planet would not collide with the moon and the earth and hence there to need for anyone to panic.

The number given to this planet is 2015TB125.On the night of Saturday this planet would move in the background of the "Dadayakkara" star. The space scientists have said that this could not be visible to the naked eye. But it could be viewed when observing through a  telescope with a 8 inch or more circumference.

Another such planer would travel close to the moon in the year 2027.It would be 800 meters in width it is told.

In addition as informed earlier on the 13th November a part of a space shuttle it to land in the sea 65 kilometres  of the sea in the south.This is relatively smaller in size is around 2 meters in length and is supposed to be a part remaining from a spacecraft sent to the moon.At that time the sea shore in the southern coast may have the tendency to lower a bit.

The Bulathsinhala student who's neck was pierced by a wooden stick succumbs to death

On the 27th of October the news was reported of the student in Galahena area in Bulathsinhala area who met with an unfortunate incident when he slipped down from a mongo tree. When falling a wooden stick had pierced through
his neck area.  The family members and neighbours a had immediately with the wooden stick intact had taken him to Bulathsinhala hospital who ha transferred him to Horana hospital and from there to the National hospital in Colombo.

The doctors and surgeons in the National hospital Colombo had immediately decided to operate on him and the operation had taken a few hours and had transferred the 16 year old Thushara Indunil to the intensive care unit.Doctors after the surgery had revealed that some internal blood vessels and veins had been damaged  and  hence the student was kept on observation.

Very unfortunately it is reported that this schoolboy had died.The cause of death has been owing to the required amount of blood had not been able to go to the brain owing to the damage caused to veins and blood vessels around the area from which the wooden stick was removed by surgery.

On the incident that occurred between the students of Inter University students federation and the Police personnel in front of the premises of the Ministry of Higher education yesterday the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe in order to make a probe under his purview has called for an

Sri Lankans among the 22 injured in a bus mishap in Thailand


It is reported that in a bus mishap in  Ranchuburi area in Prothem district in Thailand among the 22 persons who had been injured there had been some Sri Lankan tourists.

The bus carrying Thailand and Sri Lankan nationals 22 in number had been admitted to Prothem hospital for treatment. In all 34 passengers had travelled in this bus.

The bus had tried to overtake another vehicle when the driver had lost control of the bus and had gone off the road and had overturned to a lower lying area of the road.

It is learnt that several buses had proceeded from Prothem district to Damoyan Saduk district to a visit a shopping complex  at Ploteen  to do shopping when this bus had met with this  unfortunate mishap.

It is learnt that on hearing the visit of the officers of the presidential commission had visited his home in Mount Lavinia Nishantha Wickremasinghe had telephoned the officers of the presidential commission today.

During the telephone conversation he had said that is overseas and hence he cannot come to give a statement to the presidential commission and to give another date so that he could come to the presidential commission to give his statement.

It is learnt that he is to be summoned to obtain a statement in regard to financial irregularities that had taken place in the Sri Lanka Airlines catering section during his tenure of service as the Chairman of the Sri Lankan Airlines.

The ministry of finance authorities have announced that the Finance limits of vehicles that was reduced to 70 % of the value of the vehicle has been increased to 90% the value of vehicles.

In this regard the Central Bank of Sri Lanka is to issue today  the 29th instant a circular in this regard to all state owned banks, commercial banks, private banks and other lending financial institutions engaged in financing for hire purchase facilities.

On 15th September 2015 the 100% financing facility was stopped and the facilities were reduced to only 70% of the value of vehicles.

The Minister of finance Ravi Karunanayake had now decided owing to internal pressure to increase the limit to 90 % of the value of the vehicles.

Brother of Shiranthi has disappeared, wife confesses




The brother of the first Lady, the wife of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa Shiranti Rajapaksa who was the former Chairman of the Sri Lankan Airlines has not come home for a number of years. This had been confessed by the wife of the Chairman of the Sri Lankan Airlines.


This had been revealed to the officers of the presidential commission who had visited the residence of the former Chairman's house in Mt Lavinia to issue warrant to be present at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to investigate and Inquire into serious acts of fraud & corruption and abuse of power, state resources & privileges ( PRECIFAC) while he was in service as the Chairman of the Sri Lankan Airlines.
Under this situation the wife of the former Chairman of Sri Lankan Airlines has refused to accept the notice that was to be served.

The wife of Nishantha Wickremasinghe had added that she is unaware of his whereabouts and she has had no dealings with him for some time and had told the officers of the Presidential commission that in the event they find him to let her also know.
