Dark memories of 04th December

Add comments

The peaceful and pleasant country was plagued by the ruthless LTTE terrorists for thirty years.

The tiger terrorists who displayed their brutalism and cruelty to the entire world took away thousands of innocent lives during the dark era.

A war hero lost his life in a landmine planted by the terrorists in the Murukkan area on 04th December 1984. The terrorists thus commenced their killings on 04th December in the dark era. The ruthless tiger terrorists unleashed a shell attack on a day like today in the year 1994 at the Army Camp in Ampara killing two war heroes. On 04th December 1997, it was a day the motherland was stained with blood.

The cruel terrorists unleashed a ruthless attack on the gallant soldiers who were advancing in the Mankulam area since unveiling the Jayasikuru Operation with the anticipation of liberating the country from the terrorists. 167 war heroes made supreme sacrifices on behalf of the country as a result of this attack. On 04th December 1999, the sea tigers mooted an attack on the Vijayaba trawler of the Sri Lanka Navy in the Nilaveli sea. Five brave naval ratings were killed in this assault.

On 04th December 2005, the tiger terrorists exploded a claymore mine in the Palaly area. As a result four war heroes made supreme sacrifices on behalf of the unity of the country. Again in the year 2007 on a day like today, four more war heroes lost their lives in an artillery attack mooted by the tiger terrorists in the Kilaly area. On the same day another artillery attack was unleashed by the terrorists in the Periyapanurchchan area killing two brave soldiers. Again on the same day, the terrorists unleashed an attack at Gajasinghapura in Thanthirimale killing two soldiers.

The blood thirsty terrorists had taken away the lives of one innocent civilian and 203 war heroes on 04th December throughout the dark era. The country is now enjoying the peace that has been enthroned in the country since the routing of terrorism. Forces against the country are endeavouring to take President Rajapaksa the Commander in Chief, Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and the gallant soldiers who astounded the world by defeating the dedliest terrorist outfit in the world, to the international war tribunal.

British soldiers had killed 13 innocent civilians in the past and the country took 40 years to submit a report of these killings, while the United States took 49 years to forward an inquiry report on the slaughter of 500 North Koreans by American troops. But only four years had passed since Sri Lanka had succeeded in defeating the world’s deadliest terrorists and what is the moral right that these Western countries have to seek an inquiry report from the island.
