The Afghan Ambassador to Sri Lanka has said that his country is prepared to grant jobs for young men and women from Sri Lanka.
Afghan Ambassador Aziz Ahamad Sardar pointed out tht his country can provide many jobs to Sri Lankan youth in many sectors including the gem and jewellery fields. He expressed these views during a meeting with Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne at the Prim e Minister’s Office. About 400 Sri Lankans are already serving in Pakistan. The Afghan diplomat said that the new employment programme is targeted at further strengthening the bilateral ties between the two countries.
The Afghan Ambassador who recalled that Sri Lanka and Afghanistan had entered into several cultural and technological agreements, mentioned that Afghanistan was always with Sri Lanka during international challenges.
Expressing his views during this meeting, Prime Minister D.M. Jyaratne emphasized that Sri Lanka acclaimed the support received from regional countries for reconciliation and prosperity of the island nation.
