The brutality unleashed by the tiger terrorists to achieve their aims, taking away an inestimable number of lives causing massive destruction to the country is reminisced in these episodes.
Two war heroes were killed in a series of gun fire targeted by the tiger terrorists on 03rd January 1992. The terrorists thus embarked on their killing spree on 03rd January during the dark period. On 03rd January 1993, the terrorists launching an assault while hiding killed two more war heroes at Madukanda in Vavuniya.
In the year 1996 also on a day like today, a ferocious attack was unleashed by the tiger terrorists in Manipay. Three war heroes were killed as a result of this severe attack. On the same day the terrorists took away the lives of two war heroes in an attack mooted in the Pankulam area.

Two more war heroes were killed by the terrorists on 03rd January in the year 2009 in the Paranthan area. On the same day the terrorists targeted a mortar attack in the Kilaly area. Two war heroes sacrificed their lives on behalf of the country in this assault.
By the time terrorism was drawn to a close from the Nanthikadal Lagoon on 18th May 2009, the ruthless terrorists had taken away the lives of four civilians and 33 war heroes on 03rd January throughout the dark era. The gallant soldiers succeeded in routing the tiger terrorists branded as the ferocious group in the world due to the prudent leadership of President Rajapaksa who is the Commander in Chief. Defence Secretary guided the war heroes under the leadership of President Rajapaksa to protect the innocent civilian lives and safeguard the country.
The brave soldiers succeeded in eliminating terrorism by ending the brutality of the terrorists who used civilians as human shields and safeguarding only their lives. Local as well as extraneous forces are rising up against the President and the war heroes who protected the innocent civilians through a humanitarian operation.
