Former captain Mahela Jayawardena was successful this evening (Jan 20) to become the first Sri Lankan to cross the 11000 Test runs record.
He achieved this aggregate of runs in the Third Test being presently played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Sangakkara, Sanath, Aravinda, Atapattu, Dilshan, Thilan Samaraweera and Arjuna Ranatunga are behind Mahela in this list.
However, on a World Level, Tendulkar has achieved the 15000 mark after which he bade goodbye to Test cricket. In the World List, Mahela occupies 8th position.
