The funeral of veteran actress Mercy Edirisinghe took place at the Roman Catholic burial grounds at Ambepusssa today.
Veteran stage, cinema and tele drama actress as well as a radio artiste Mercy Edirisinghe passed away at a Private Hospital on Monday morning. She was 68 years at the time of her demise.
The remains which were lying at the Art Gallery in Colombo were taken in a special motorcade to her residence at No: 451, Kandy Road, Ambepussa in Warakapola yesterday.
The funeral took place at the Roman Catholic burial grounds at Ambepussa this afternoon. A large gathering including many artistes was present.
