The Ampara General Hospital has become the world’s best hospital.
The Institute for Health and Productivity Management of the United States has presented the 2014 International Award for the world’s Best Hospital to the Ampara Base Hospital.
The Award has been given taking into consideration the treatment offered to the public and its outstanding management. Minister Maithripala Sirisena in a greetings message said that the dedication of the Staff including Hospital Director Dr. P.K.C.L. Jayasinghe enabled to bring this honour to the Ampara Base Hospital as well as to the motherland. This Hospital had earlier earned accolades both locally as well as internationally.
