Sri Lanka is to get many benefits according to the Silk route concept
introduced by China. Senior Minister and Deputy Finance Minister Sarath Amunugama says that he paid a special attention in this regard. He said this after arriving at the Bandaranayake International Airport following the completion of the Chinese tour. Minister Amunugama said that he went to a meeting in Guwangshu. A new concept, Silk route has been introduced under the leadership of the Chinese President. Buddhism has been propagated along this route. Sri Lanka has a place as a Southern sea route. The Silk route was in existence from Europe to Korea during medieval times. China has a history of going to Middle East and beyond through South Asia and Sri Lanka. Now China has plans to make it an economic cooperation and Sri Lanka has a good place in it because we were on the route earlier as well. This will enhance the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
