by Afghanistan amassed 417 runs for the loss of only six wickets in the allotted 50 overs. The chief scorers were opener David Warner 178, Steve Smith 95 and Glenn Maxwell 88.
This score was the highest score ever made by a team in the annals of world cup cricket. The previous highest score of 413/5 was made by India against Bermuda in the 2007 cricket world cup.
