Gammanpila to skip the “bring Mahinda back as Prime Minister Candidate” meeting in Kurunegala
It is reported that the Western Provincial council
member and leader of the New Sihala Urumaya, Udaya Gammanpila would not attend the next meeting in support of “bring Mahinda back as Prime Minister Candidate” campaign to be held at Kurunegala on the 08th instant.He had conveyed this fact at a media briefing held today at the Abhayaramaya temple in Narehenpita.It had been told that a representative from his party would attend on his behalf. The reason for his non participation is that he has received summons to attend courts on the 08th for involving in the protest in front of the Bribery and Corruption investigating unit when former defence secretary was requested to report to record a statement. This was as he and several other party leaders had ignored the court orders to refrain from protesting in that area.
