alleged that the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe had without the knowledge and permission of the President Maithripala Sirisena had appointed a cabinet subcommittee to establish the new Police Financial Crimes Investigation unit. According to him the sole intention of this exercise in establishing the new unit is to discredit the UPFA and to wipe off the members of the UPFA by bringing in alleged financial crime complaints and remanding them.According to him several Members of the UPFA have been questioned. In that manner only he had said that Basil Rajapaksa and Johnston Fernando were remanded. After they were questioned only they have been remanded.
