President Maithripala Sirisena says that foreign companies will not be permitted to mine gems in Sri Lanka. The President mentioned this while attending the opening of Gem and Jewellery Exhibition at the BMICH in Colombo. The President said that it was essential to provide technical knowledge and skills to those who engaged in gem industry.
