The “jana satana” Pada Yatra’ which has been organised by the so called joint opposition from Kandy to Colombo between the 28th July to 1st August consist of five stages. The first stage would commence tomorrow from close to the Maligawa would be up to Mawanella. The second phase would be from Mawanella to Nelumdeniya.On Saturday the stage would be from Nelumdeniya to Nittambuwa.The fourth phase would be from Nattambuwa to Kiribathgoda.On the 1st instant the final stage on Monday the Pada Yatra is to end in

On the first day i.e on Thursday the 28th instant a United National Party has organised a membership promotion drive of the partyalso in Kandy town.. As these members of the opposing  parties with different views would go on procession, in order  to prevent the possibility of clash a court injunction has been issued to have the UNP promotion meeting to be held in the afternoon.

Also a court injunction has been issued for the members of the “Pada Yatra” not to enter the Mawanella town as it would inconvenience the general public. In the restraining order to police it has been stated to use alternate roads. Hence for the “Jana Satana” Pada Yatra there are two hindrances at the commencement.
