Vijitha Finance Chief Executive Shrinika Mathakadheera shot dead in Horana
A chief executive officer of a finance company who was travelling in a motor car this morning was shot dead at Ilba Junction in Horana by 2 unidentified gunmen. At the moment of shooting the Honda-type car in which the victim was travelling had been stopped by the side of the
road, it was reported. After the shooting when people in the area had rushed to the scene the assailants had beat a retreat, it was observed by eye witnesses.This incident was reported at about 7.55 in the morning and it had taken place when Mr. Mathakadheera had been on his way to his office from home. The victim who was so murdered has been identified as one Shrinika Nimendra Mathakadheera, a chief of Vijitha Finance Company. He had functioned as the Chief Administrative Director of Vijitha Finance Vehicle Leasing and pawn-brokering establishment situated at Horana Road, Galagedera, Panadura.
The victim was 47 years of age, being a father of 1 child and residing in Eduragala, Ingiriya. Information of testimonies are streaming in to the effect that this incident was a side issue connected to a transaction he had been involved in with a group of people. A T56 weapon has been used in the shooting and at the moment of shooting bullets have entered the body of the vehicle too. Mr. Mathakadheera had been shot dead in his driving seat and his body was not tampered with until the arrival of the magistrate. Horana Police are conducting investigations on the murder.
