As soon as the weapons were found, the police conducted a swift operation and during that process 4 suspicious characters have been apprehended. Harold Rohana de Silva alias Gona Kovile Roha supposed to be the underworld gang leader in Mount Lavinia was brought to courts last morning to produce him in courts regarding 2 cases of homicide. He was produced in courts for one case and until he was to be called for the next case he was stationed elsewhere in courts during which period these two weapons had been found
inside the court room.

A Sub Inspector who had gone to take into custody a certain vehicle that had been stolen some months before this was shot dead at a hotel in Kurunegala by Roha. It was also revealed that it was Roha who had murdered the underworld leader by the name of Lansiya in front of Mahara Courts. Police suspect that members of Lansiya's underworld gang had brought these weapons with the motive of gunning down Roha. On a tip off about information to the effect that Lansiya's gang is trying to kill Roha, the plice have from 28th morning installed strong protection to Mount Lavinia area, the courts and the environs. A senior officer said that steps were taken to carry out a thorough check on all people who visited the courts. 

A person who had gained entrance from the nearby wall or a post would have brought in these weapons, police say. Further investigations are being conducted under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr. Wasantha Wickremasingha and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Chandana Galappaththi, in this connection.
