The wildlife officers were able to bust a timber smugglingin the Somawathiya National Park. Wildlife officials had received information that a group who entered the Ihalapitiya area of the National Park engaged in a timber racket. A firearm and other equipment used to fell the trees were found during the raid conducted by the officers.
