Former Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to Russia had filed a rights petition seeking an interim injunction against warrant issued via Interpol to recall him. The judiciary dismissed the petition without taking up for consideration. Udayanga Weeratunge is accused of committing a fraud with regard to the purchase of MiG aircraft for the Sri Lanka Air Force.
