Add comments

No one can ever forget the enormous destruction unleashed by the blood thirsty terrorists for 30 years sans heeding international war regulations and flouting human rights.

The world should not be made to forget the brutality of the terrorists who caused such gigantic destruction

This dark era which was stained with blood is being reminisced in this feature.

Two war heroes were killed when the tiger terrorists opened fire at Point Pedro on 11th January 1984. The terrorists thus unveiled their killing spree on 11th January throughout the dark era. On 11th January 1996, the ruthless terrorists killed two more war heroes in the Tholpuram area and on the same day three brave soldiers had to make supreme sacrifices on behalf of the country in an attack carried out by the blood thirsty brutal terrorists in the Wilgamvehera area.

Vavuniya was the next target of the terrorists on 11th January in the year 1998. They mooted an attack targeting a group of soldiers. Two war heroes lost their lives in this assault. On 11th January 2009, the tiger terrorists demented by the severe defeats suffered in the hands of the Government troops unleashed a series of attacks on war heroes who were according security to the civilians. Two gallant soldiers lost their lives in an attack at Mankulam. On the same day, the tiger terrorists targeted an attack in Elephant Pass. The country was deprived of the valuable services of two war heroes.

These ruthless terrorists unleashed a severe attack at Olumadu. While two brave soldiers sacrificed their lives on behalf of the country, the terrorists mooted an assault in the Kilinochchi area and thus three soldiers lost their lives.

29 war heroes had made supreme sacrifices on 11th January throughout the fear psychosis period in the face of the brutal thirstiness of the tiger terrorists. These gallant soldiers made supreme sacrifices on behalf of the country due to their dedication to protect the nation and the motherland.

The undeterred and prudent leadership of President Rajapaksa, the war heroes were able to provide a lesson to the entire world on how to rout terrorism. Some countries which call themselves world powers are severely hurt as a result of this lesson. As such these world powers are going against the island nation. They are accusing the Lankan soldiers of flouting human rights.

It is not a secret to the entire world how Britain and the United States had flagrantly violated human rights. Whatever allegations were preferred by local as well as extraneous forces against the country, the country’s head of state as well as the war heroes, the positive responses made by a majority of countries, clearly indicate that they are aware of the humanitarian operation discharged by the heroic soldiers in a humane manner to liberate the innocent civilians from the clutches of the heartless terrorists.
