Sri Lanka lends a helping hand to improve the health standards of the children of Uganda.
A three-day medical camp is being organized in Uganda with the participation of Sri Lankan doctors following a request made by the President of Uganda Yuveni Musaveni during a recent official visit by President Rajapaksa to Uganda.
This Medical Camp will be held for 200 children infected with AIDS in the Masuliita village of the Wakiso District in Kampala. First Lady Shiranthi Wickramasinghe Rajapaksa left for Uganda at the invitation of her Ugandan counterpart Janet Musaveni to participate as the Chief Guest on the occasion.
On arrival at the Entebbe Airport last afternoon, the First Lady was accorded a warm welcome by Minister Karooro Okurut. . It was followed by a meeting of the First Ladies of the two countries. On this occasion, the Ugandan First Lady greeted her Sri Lankan counterpart.
