The fashion crowd and various celebrities turned out for the Lanvin menswear show at the Beaux Arts academy in Paris, with actor Will Smith and American football player Victor Cruz sitting front row. They saw an eclectic, surprising show that was inspired, according to the designers Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver, by each man’s need for a unique identity in the digital age. This was clothing meant to free up a man and give him the option to create his own personal style, from blue-dyed sneakers to narrow black and white striped pants to faceless silhouettes like crime victims on sweater fronts.
