The Automated Finger Print System to identify criminals was introduced at the Deyata Kirula National Exhibition premises today.
The introduction of the Automated Finger Print System to get instant finger prints of criminals took place at the Deyata Kirula Exhibition Grounds today under the patronage of Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. Finger prints of leading criminals in the country had been incorporated into the software. As such it facilitates to get finger print data within a very short space of time. A group including Security Chiefs joined in the occasion.
Expressing views to the media after the function Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said that such public services provided by the Police and the Security sectors is an example to the entire Public Service.
The Defence Secretary said it was possible to achieve this due to the dedication of the Police Officers as well as computer experts. May are used to flay the Police. But no mention is made of those who make such dedications. Dedications made by Government institutions to further improve the services is the best example. He added that as a result the people enjoy enormous facilities.
