Add comments

Sri Lanka is providing health facilities to children of Uganda further strengthening ties between the two countries.

As a result of talks held between the Presidents of Uganda and Sri Lanka in Uganda, agreement was reached to provide free medical treatment to children who do not enjoy facilities to receive treatment in their countries.

A special Medical Camp was held following the mediation of First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa during the President’s tour of Uganda. Agreement was reached to provide medical treatment in Sri Lanka to some sick Ugandan children. One such child was recently admitted to the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital.

The First Lady visited the Hospital this morning to inquire into the wellbeing of this one and half year old child who has fallen sick due to a germ infection. The child is now recuperating and it was agreed to further increase the health facilities provided to this child.
