Representatives of many countries are attending a conference in Sri Lanka on the prevention of Non Communicable Diseases in the Asia Pacific Region.
Organized by the World Health Organization, the conference commenced in Colombo yesterday. The opening sessions took place under the patronage of Minister Maithripala Sirisena and WHO Resident Representative in Sri Lanka F.R. Mehta.
The conference is represented by countries such as India, Korea, Bangladesh, Thailand, Bhutan, Indonesia, the Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Timor and Sri Lanka. The theme of the Conference is “An Approach from Sri Lanka to control Non-Communicable Diseases.
