Trincomalee now enjoy fully fledged banking facilities.
The opening of two new premises of the new Bank Branches of the People’s Bank with all modern technology took place under the patronage of Minister Basil Rajapaksa today. The People’s Bank Branch in Trincomalee was opened in July 1967 and the number of customers exceed 45 thousand. The Muttur Branch was launched in 1992 while it has a total of around 25 thousand customers.
Minister Basil Rajapaksa and People’s Bank Chairman Gamini Senarath accepted the deposits of the first five customers of the newly constructed branches.
