The Sri Lanka Medical Association has lauded the programme mooted by the President on the war on narcotics.
The Sri Lanka Medical Association has thanked the President and the Government to build a healthy nation minimizing the use of alcohol and drugs and thereby uprooting it from society. A meeting between President Rajapaksa and the Sri Lanka Medical Association was held at Temple Trees this morning.
Their discussions dealt at length on the issues that have surfaced in society due to the use of narcotics and alcohol. Attention was drawn to possible solutions to the issue. The President was briefed on the activities of the Sub Committee of the Sri Lanka Medical Association on the Control of Alcohol and drugs.
Minister Maithripala Sirisena, Chief of Presidential Staff Gamini Senarath, Health Secretary Dr. Nihal Jayatilake and Health Services Director General Dr. Palitha Mahipala were present at this meeting.
