The President and First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa cast their ballots at the D.A. Rajapaksa Maha Vidyalaya in Medamulana this morning.
Expressing views to the media the President said the people of this country are explicitly aware of democracy. They are well educated and intelligent. As such they will never betray the motherland. He was optimistic of a resounding victory by the Freedom Alliance. The President emphasized that the people of the country will be giving their verdict and not that of Geneva.
