The 42nd anniversary of the National Savings Bank has been held under the patronage of the President.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa presided over the ceremony which was held in Matara to mark the 42nd anniversary of the NSB. The President opened the new building complex built in connection with the anniversary. The President handed over “Divisurekum” pension plan, “Diriya Diyani” community project and “Buddhi” higher education loan accounts to the recipients. He accepted deposits and presented mementos to the depositors. President Rajapaksa handed over a loan to veteran artist Bandula Nanayakkarawasam as a token of providing vehicle loans for artists. Ministers, public officials, Chairperson of the National Savings Bank, W.A. Nalini and the staff were present on the occasion.
