Sri Lankans will never forget the destructions caused by terrorism. The inhumanity and barbarism of terrorist acts displayed the brutality of terrorism to the entire world. The dark memories contains the inhumanity of ruthless terrorism. LTTE terrorists on the 20th of April 1987 stormed the Jayanthipura village and killed 15 civilians, sending shockwaves around the country. They launched another attack targeting innocent civilians at Niyandella near Okkampitiya on the 20th of April 1991. Twenty two villagers died in the attack. Two soldiers lost their lives when LTTE terrorists exploded a claymore mine at Welioya in Gajabapura on the 20th April 1994. 60 soldiers sacrificed their lives to the motherland in a terrorist attack on 20th April 1998 at Olumadu. 384 soldiers sacrificed their lives to protect the territorial integrity of the country when LTTE terrorists attacked Elephant Pass on the 20th April 2000. A claymore explosion in Thrikonamadu took the lives of two soldiers on the 20th of April 2007. LTTE attacks in Karayamulli Waikkal in Pudukudirrippu areas on the 20th April 2009 took the lives of 30 soldiers. The terrorism which caused massive destruction to life and property was ended on the 18th May 2009. By that day 543 people including 488 soldiers and 55 innocent civilians had been killed by the LTTE terrorists. The heroic soldiers marched forward sacrificed their lives on the brave decisions taken by President Mahinda Rajapaksa and under the directions of Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. The people who are experiencing the freedom and peace in the county will never allow anyone to destroy the hard won peace. Certain organizations who are covering behind human rights, are acting to implement western agendas. The patriotic people have identified those groups and are aware how to handle them. Therefore the traitors have realized their fate more than the others. People in the country will never hesitate to protect the state leader and the country by defeating various forces and conspiracies. It is because there are patriotic people living in the country who love their motherland.
