Narendra Modi takes oaths as India’s 15th PM

The future of India has been endowed to Narendra Modi. He took oaths as the 15th Prime Minister of India. The glorious event was graced by many foreign State Leaders including the Sri Lankan President.

Narendra Modi took oaths today as the 15th Prime Minister of India,


the world’s largest democracy. The ceremony was held in the forecourt of Rastrapathi Bhawan, the Indian Presidential Palace within a splendid environment. Foreign media reported that the entire Indian capital New Delhi was in a festive mood in view of the swearing-in of the new Prime Minister. Nearly 4000 guests including State Leaders joined in this function.

President Rajapaksa was the first state leader to arrive in New Delhi to participate in the inauguration of the new Indian Prime Minister. He was thereafter followed by Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

Expressing views to the media before leaving for New Delhi, the Pakistani Prime Minister said that he was today taking the message of peace to India. Naveen Ram Ghulam, the Prime Minister of Mauritius which is an observer state of SAARC also arrived for the ceremony. Among the other state guests at the ceremony were Prime Minister of Bhutan Shering Tobbe, Prime Minister of Nepal Sushil Koirala and Maldivian President Abdullah Yameen.

A notable feature was the presence of former Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, Congress Party Leader Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

The Bharatiya Janata Party led by Narendra Modi secured a resounding victory at the recently concluded General Election winning 337 of the 543 seats in the Lok Sabha. Addressing the media after the election victory, Narendra Modi said that the victory was not a triumph of the Bharatiya Janata Party was that of the Indian people. He was optimistic that a bright future would dawn for India after the election victory. Narendra Modi succeed in establishing a Government without a coalition or the support of any other political party. It is only after 30 years that an Indian political party had succeeded in securing such a large majority. Narendra Modi took over the reigns of India with a solemn pledge to brighten the future of the all Indians.
