New Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted
an invitation extended by President Rajapaksa to visit Sri Lanka.
This invitation was extended to the new Indian Prime Minister during the meet between the Sri Lankan President and the Indian Prime Minister in New Delhi yesterday.
Secretary to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Sujatha Singh, addressing the media in New Delhi, confirmed that the Sri Lankan President invited the Indian Prime Minister to visit the island. Accordingly, the India media reported that Narendra Modi may undertake a tour of Sri Lanka in August or September this year.
