The inaugural procession of Ruhunu-Kataragama Maha Devalaya will tour the streets tonight. The inaugural procession of the historic Ruhunu Kataragma Maha Devalaya will commence tonight at the auspicious time of 7.45 p.m. The procession is scheduled to arrive at Walli Amma Devalaya through the main street and return to the Maha Devalaya following the traditions. Devotees belonging to all religions were scheduled to hoist the flag this evening at the mosque situated at the Kataragama sacred area. The procession of Kataragama which has a history of 1900 years, is conducted with the participation of all communities. All measures are in place for the procession under the patronage of Basnayaka Nilame of Kataragama Maha Devalaya Shashendra Rajapaksa.
