The Housing Scheme launched for families evicted during the construction of the approach road to the Sooriyawewa Mahinda Rajapaksa Cricket Stadium has been opened. Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa handed over houses located in the Weliwewa area in Sooriyawewa to these families. Eight million rupees was expended on each house built with personal donations. The Scheme has 14 houses. Parliamentarian Tharanath Basnayake was present on this occasion. The recipients of these houses expressed their appreciation to the Government for granting these valuable houses to them meting out justice to them, even though they had to sacrifice the houses for a development Scheme launched by the Government.
