Jayalalitha released from Assets case
The former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha Jayaram who was found guilty in the
Assets case filed against her which had been heard for over18 years. She was sentenced to jail last year. However she was relieved of her charges and had been exonerated from the charges framed today.She was accused for misappropriating Indian rupees 66 billion from people’s money and was sentenced to jail. There were 150 people who wanted to commit suicide if she was jailed. She was released on bail.
After an appeal was made to Supreme Courts the charges against could not be proved and hence she was exonerated from the charges.
