Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya to retire
The present Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya
would be soon reaching the age sixty and is forced to retire. In this connection he has already submitted his retirement papers to the government pensions department.Mahinda Deshapriya had conveyed to the media he would continue to serve as the elections commissioner until the election commission is established. As the proposed elections commission has not been established he could continue to serve as the elections commissioner until the forthcoming election is completed.
