Extensive sports academy of 19 acres ....
in Susanthika's name ... with blessings of President
A ceremony to launch Susanthika Jayasingha Foundation, Susanthika Jayasingha Sports Academy and Susanthika's autobiography "My Story" was launched yesterday at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute under the auspices of the President Maithripala Sirisena.
What was revealed at the occasion was that a sports academy under the name Susanthika Jayasingha would be opened in Makandura area in Kurunegala in future and after it is erected it would be the largest sports complex in the whole island. This land that has been transferred by the Land Reformation Commission Committee to Kurunegala Plantation is 19 acres in extent.
Susanthika made speeches at the last Presidential Elections as a strong Mahinda-supporter and created some sensation at a rally in Galle relating to her utterance of 'aachchita hal garanna'. Some photos of the ceremony, from below
