Confirmed through DNA ....
that Kondaya had not seduced Seya
The DNA examination carried out on Dunesh Priyashantha alias Kondaya who was arrested on suspicion regarding the seduction and murder of Seya Sandewmi of Kotadeniyawa was revealed in courts that it does not tally. With the report being presented in the presence of Mnuwangoda
magistrate today it was proved that Kondaya who had upto now been labelled in society as the convict was thus proved innocent.
The police on a previous occasion had taken a 17 year old schoolboy and a 32 year old father of one child on suspicion over the seduction and murder and they too were later released on the grounds that their DNA also did not tally. The DNA examination of Kondaya's brother Saman Jayalath is still not over and the final hope that rests on the police is to cordon him in connection with the murder.
