A plea from Bodu Balaya to boycott Independence day
The officials of the Bodu Bala Sena organisations have made a plea from the Maha Sanga and the people of the country to boycott the independence day celebrations organised for the 06th instant.They had made this plea via the
media on the 02nd instant. They have quoted the reason as for the arrest of Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara thera the secretary general of the Bodu Bala Sena organisation and other monks in connection with insulting the Homagama courts.The chief executive officer of the Bodu Bala Sena organisation Dr Dilantha Vithanage had confessed that when Buddhist monks have been remanded how could people in this country celebrate independence.
he had also added that if the present government has a proper backbone they should stop going behind the activities of the Buddhist monks but to find the activities of the ISIS organisation and those of the extremists. In this manner Dilantha Vithanage had challenged the government.
