The government servants who had secretly allowed filling of low lands to be penalized -President
President Maithripala Sirisena has added that in lands around lakes and rivers where they are to be protected from environmental hazards if any government officials in charge had knowingly allowed any person to fill lands to build houses would be penalized if proved that they have used
their powers neglecting the environmental hazards.President had added that the government anticipates such responsible officers appointed to discharge duties correctly. However if anyone is proved to have flouted these responsibilities would be dealt with and punished.
President had added this in regard to the declaring of the national environmental week .
