After Bandara and Abeygoonawardene, Vijitha Rohana Wijemuni who engaged in political gain predictions publicly forecast that the President would meet with death before January 26th and it has by now come to nought.
When readers of his Facebook Page questioned him asking "Maithripala President malaada bung?" ("Did President Maithripala die?"), no response was given and on the contrary the questions that
appeared were deleted in a few minutes, it was understood. In that forecast which was issued in a very serious mood across the media with indomitable courage a few months ago confirmed that the Saturn transit which occurs that day on the 26th was detrimental to the President and that he would definitely pass away before the 26th. However, having faced several criticisms and on realising that the prediction would not see the light of day, he had altered it on 18th January 2017 making an amendment saying that the said tragedy has been delayed by another 10 months because of a particular change of Saturn occuring in the month of April. (In most instances when planetary transits take place regressions occur because of its ellipsical movement and Astrological predictions which are misinterpreted in such a case for uncertainty were treated as a joke by those knowledgeable in the science). Comments made in order to cover up the contempt of such a mistaken forecast of his 'story of death being delayed' too were published. Since this prediction has gone astray, it has been notified that in future, making forecasts and engaging in all Astrological activities would be withheld.In the process, another seer called Mr. Indika Thotawatta on examining Vijitha Rohana's horoscope has mentioned that the bad period is not for the President but for Vijitha Rohana himself.
