Bag of gifts from Finance Minister Mangala
The Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera joining in at a media briefing today (17) introduced some cocessions after a peruiod of time.
He stated that the telecommunications imposed on internet services would be completely eliminated from September 1st. this was increased to 25
percent from 10 percent by Minister Ravi. He has also mentioned that the import tax for motor cycles with an engine capacity of 150 cc. has been decided to be slashed by 90 percent. As such, from midnight today (17) these values would decrease, Minister Mangala Samaraweera said. Other than this, the Minister further said that the taxes prevalent for small lorries and Signal cabs would be brought down by 3 lakhs from 10 lakhs to 7 lakhs.
