Several programmes have been implemented to improve health facilities of rural people under the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine. Accordingly steps have been taken to develop many health centres in Puttalama. Developing of many rural health centres in Puttalama has been launched with the aim of improving health facilities of the rural people.
